Some things come naturally to people. Being able to move a crowd
and capture the masses, and representing the youth came as second
nature to Canada’s latest Reggae sensation; Trinity Chris. His
talent is unmistakable. His sound is unparallel and his determination
is fierce.
Trinity Chris, born Christopher Jones, is no stranger
to the music scene and by no means plans to be taken lightly. Being
a DJ has been his dream since he was a child growing up in Toronto,
Canada where he was born to Jamaican parents that helped nurture
and support his passion for performing. Trinity Chris’s
story isn’t one easily digested, his life isn’t a storybook,
it’s been plagued by a number of trials and tribulations but
every time this DJ has emerged the victor. Learning growing and continuing
to live in God’s grace Trinity Chris is turning
his string of misfortunes into his inspiration and is on the fast
track to showing the world what a serious Reggae artist he is.
It’s with this natural ability to woo audiences that Christopher
Jones fell for the game. His passion to master his craft has introduced
him to celebrity since his adolescence, where he along side three
brethrens formed a group known as the Shorelines Gangin
the city that never sleeps, New York. Their first single, Scream took
off and wet Trinity’s pallet, who then went by Gangsta. At
the tender age of 17 Chris and his crew got the first dose of reality,
signing a contract that didn’t have the group’s best
interest at heart, ultimately caging their talent. Truly disappointed
and shell shocked by the experience the crew who had gained a serious
amount of recognition dismembered.
Living in a concrete jungle got to the best of this young inspired
talent; Chris got caught up, living life in the fast lane where he
was eventually incarcerated. For many an experience of being
jailed would kill their spirit, but in many ways it opened the gateway
for Chris’s true passion, his music. While jailed he
was blessed with time and the ability to pen some of his most engaging
work. It was also during this time that his new name, through
divine intervention if you will, emerged, Trinity Chris, taking a
name from his faith and combining his own would prove to be the most
powerful namesake he could have chosen. A blessing really,
Trinity Chris was released and was ready. His time is now and
he’s taking no prisoners.
Pairing up with a new record company Startin Lineup,
the family was solidified. This family is one of open creativity
and encouragement, the perfect place for this budding Reggae DJ to
be. His first single, The Anthem blew up the
air waves and marked Trinity as a force to be reckoned with. Since
then he has been consistent with showing the masses what’s
really good and has mesmerized audiences all over. His gruff
exterior with his true understanding of the game and his fearlessness
make Trinity Chris stellar. His music is raw, conscious, fun,
dancehall and serious and he never forgets his roots, and that voice!
His distinct ability to flip it on a MIC has given him the allowance
to be the biggest voice to come out of Canada. Toronto is the
city that nurtured him and he is representing for every youth that
feels music and knows the streets. Reggae fans eat your heart
out, Canada’s Reggae ambassador is here.
